Solve the Big Problems
IKEA Bootcamp is about collaborating and co-building with startups. We are looking for startups to help us solve the IKEA ‘Big Problems’ around being truly affordable for the many people, reaching and interacting with the many, and enabling a positive impact on the planet, people and society.
Co-create in our Democratic Design center
If you are a startup working on solving the Big Problems, we want to invite you to apply for the IKEA Bootcamp program. If your team are one of the ten selected startups, you will spend three months in Sweden, at the heart of the IKEA Range & Supply Democratic Design center, working together with IKEA and Rainmaking to accelerate your startup.
We will support your startup
You will get access to IKEA’s prototype shop, test labs & innovation development, as well as the expertise and knowledge within IKEA Range & Supply. You will also be awarded a 20,000 EUR grant to spend on developing your product & startup, and free co-working space & housing during the program. You will get a senior global IKEA business leader as mentor as well as access to tailored mentorship & advice from both IKEA and Rainmaking’s global network of serial entrepreneurs and experts.
And no, we don’t take equity
We do not take equity in your startup. We are looking to collaborate or co-create with you; we may end up being a customer, licensing your technology or even investing in your company, but first and foremost we want you to be working on the Big Problems and to share our vision to create a better everyday life for the many people.

We want to be affordable for people who cannot afford IKEA today. As IKEA wants to side with the many, we need to improve our ability to offer outstanding solutions at even lower prices, today and tomorrow.
We want to reach and be accessible for the many. We need to challenge ourselves and our ability to be where the people are, when and how it suits them.
We want to fulfil our vision and have a positive impact on the planet, people and society. Together we must passionately challenge conventions and create capabilities that contributes to a sustainable future and a circular economy

We are looking for startups who want to challenge known truths in a world of ideas and technology. Startups who want to join us in exploring the big problems in people’s everyday lives, for society and the planet. You are a team of co-founders and an early stage startup; your company may have anything from an idea to early revenue. You may or may not have received your first funding. We imagine you work within some of the following fields:
