What is IKEA Bootcamp?

IKEA Bootcamp is IKEA’s first startup program, made in collaboration with Rainmaking. Ten startups will be invited to join the 3-month program starting in September, to work closely together with IKEA and Rainmaking to accelerate their startup. The program will end in December with a large demo-day where the ten startups will showcase their startup and progress to both IKEA, press, and external investors.

Designed for collaboration

IKEA Bootcamp is designed to facilitate collaboration between your startup and IKEA. We will make sure to provide you with all the support, access to our facilities, and expert knowledge you need in order to make your business succeed. Furthermore, you will get tailored mentorship and advice from Rainmaking’s global network of entrepreneurs, experts & investors.

You will get

Each startup will get several connection points with IKEA and will get access to:

  • A senior global business leader as your mentor
  • Domain expertise such as innovation engineers, product category owners & value chain experts
  • Functional expertise within areas such as marketing, finance & legal
  • IKEA’s prototype shop, test labs and advanced materials equipment

How we run the program

The program will be a mix of 1:1 mentor sessions, workshops, startup classes and lightning talks – as well as time to build your startup. We will also have different social events such as weekly community breakfasts, ‘after work’ and fun surprises. After the program, IKEA is open to several ways of collaborating, for instance through setting up license agreements, development agreements or establishing joint ventures. IKEA will also consider collaborating through investing or signing supplier agreements with you.
